Hauling with an 01 ?

Ok, I might be a little too cautious here and a little to paranoid but here it goes ? I have an 01 Limited which from what I believe has never towed anything. I know the overdrive planetary gear is weak also in this year.

For the first time, I might be pulling a small trailer of firewood a few miles along with the bed being full. I wont be going over 35 mph.

Should I drive with the overdrive off or is there no need to ?

Thanks, I have never hauled a trailer either.....so that will be a first also.
